Volunteers are Needed! In today’s world the assistance of volunteers within almost every nonprofit organization is vital. Because the Tucson Alliance for Autism funds are very limited, volunteers are needed to perform the many tasks the Tucson Alliance for Autism staff often do not have the time or resources to complete. Volunteers provide those “extra touches” of care and assistance that benefit the individuals served by the Tucson Alliance for Autism.
Who can Volunteer? The Tucson Alliance for Autism welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, both men and women. Young people about to enter the world of work can just as well as those who are retired become valued members of the Tucson Alliance for Autism team. The Tucson Alliance for Autism deals with all volunteers fairly and without discrimination because of age, disability, race, religion, color, sex, creed, national origin, or political affiliation.
There are prohibitions for individuals convicted of certain offenses, child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and drug-related offenses.
Who Should Volunteer? The Tucson Alliance for Autism is looking for volunteers who are:
* Friendly, warm, and caring;
* Emotionally mature;
* Sincere in their desire to give time and service to others; and able to relate to individuals with Autism.
What Expectations Exist? All persons, whether paid or unpaid, who work for the Tucson Alliance for Autism are expected to make a commitment - a commitment to the Tucson Alliance for Autism mission, to the people served by the Tucson Alliance for Autism, and to doing the very best job possible. Volunteers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of persons served, to strictly adhere to the code of ethics, and to represent the best interests of the agency.
